The recently opened Vinnies store got into the spirit of daffodil day. Assistant Manager Christine had an idea which she thought might work. To her spring means daffodils and little lambs, so the hunt was on to find a little lamb that they got borrow and put in the shop window. Through the Saint Vincent de Paul Society network, a contact was made with a farmer who had twin lambs that were being bottle feed (just ideal for the situation). This meant a pen needed to be made in the window before Manager Barry could pick the lambs up. Christine in her eagerness to decorate the area with daffodils forgot that lambs can jump and they made short work of the artificial daffodils she put on the sides of the pen.
During their stay the lambs were fed twice, once by Barry and the second time by brother & sister, Ashton & Holly Hamilton from Lower Hutt with the help of Barry. The lambs were an instant success with the children and visiting public.
